About the role
Qonfido is building an AI companion for money, and is preparing a regulated investment advisory offering for Indian investors.
We are looking for an Investment Advisory Partner who will advise clients with Qonfido: your client relationships and judgment, inside our research, product, and compliance framework. This is a partnership, not a research internship and not a seat that publishes stock tips.
The work is hybrid. You can be based anywhere in India. You will meet and speak with clients in the way that suits them, and you will work with the Qonfido team on how advice is scoped, documented, and delivered through the product.
You will not advise outside the regulatory perimeter of the offering. Suitability, disclosures, and record-keeping are part of the job, not a back-office afterthought.
If you already hold the right certification, care about plain-language advice, and want to practise inside a product built for Indian mutual-fund investors, we would like to talk.
What you'll own
Client advisory
- Hold discovery and review conversations with clients who come through Qonfido.
- Give investment advice only within the scope, products, and process of the regulated offering.
- Explain risk, costs, and trade-offs in plain language. No guaranteed returns, no product pushing.
- Keep advice consistent with the client’s goals, horizon, and capacity for loss.
Suitability, conflicts, and records
- Complete suitability and risk profiling before a recommendation, and revisit it when the client’s situation changes.
- Document advice, rationale, and client consent in the format the offering requires.
- Disclose conflicts, fees, and the limits of the advice. Escalate anything that does not fit the framework.
- Follow the compliance process Qonfido sets for the regulated entity. Do not run a parallel advice practice under the Qonfido name.
Partnership with the product
- Use Qonfido’s fund research, ratings, and portfolio tools as the working surface for advice.
- Tell founders and product where the advisory flow is unclear, slow, or unsafe for a real client conversation.
- Help shape scripts, checklists, and review rhythms so advice quality does not depend on who the client happens to meet.
Hybrid practice
- Be available for client conversations across India, in person where you are based and by video otherwise.
- Join periodic working sessions with founders and the advisory team. This is not a full-time seat in one city.
- Bring a local client context without building a separate brand that competes with the offering.
What success looks like
Within the first 6 months, you should be able to:
- Clients receive suitable, documented advice inside the offering’s process.
- Records, disclosures, and escalations are complete enough for a compliance review without reconstruction.
- Advice stays inside the agreed product and regulatory scope.
- Product and founders get specific feedback from live client conversations, not generic feature requests.
- The partnership is sustainable: clear capacity, reliable follow-through, and no side advice under the Qonfido name.
Who you are
- Valid NISM-Series-X-A: Investment Adviser (Level 1) and NISM-Series-X-B: Investment Adviser (Level 2) certifications, or a CFP certification issued by FPSB India and in good standing.
- Able to meet the eligibility SEBI sets for the regulated investment advisory offering, including qualification, experience, certification, and fit-and-proper requirements. The partnership starts only when those conditions are met for the entity.
- Experience advising Indian individuals or families on mutual funds, asset allocation, or financial planning. Practising advisers and advisers ready to practise under a registered entity are both in scope.
- Clear spoken and written English, or any regional language, and comfortable explaining advice in the language your clients actually use.
- High personal standard on suitability and conflicts. You would rather decline a recommendation than stretch the mandate.
- Based anywhere in India, with reliable connectivity for hybrid client and team work.
Bonus points
- Both the NISM Investment Adviser certifications and a current CFP certification.
- Prior association with a SEBI-registered investment adviser, or experience as a person associated with investment advice.
- An existing book of retail clients you would bring only through the Qonfido process, not alongside it.
- Comfort with mutual fund categories, direct plans, and goal-based allocation.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research, while you still own the recommendation.
Why join us
You practise advice inside a product and a compliance framework, instead of assembling both alone.
You keep a hybrid practice from anywhere in India, with client conversations in your city and the rest of the work with the Qonfido team.
You help shape the advisory offering while it is still being built, including how advice is explained and recorded.
