The People Behind Qonfido
Qonfido was founded by two builders who spent their careers on opposite ends of finance and technology, and kept running into the same problem: even smart, capable people find it exhausting to manage their money well. Both are alumni of XLRI, and together they set out to build the wealth companion they wished they'd had.
Vikram spent two decades in financial markets, most recently as a Director at HSBC Global Banking and Markets. His work spanned treasury, investing, and risk — the unglamorous work of keeping large institutions steady through market cycles and stress.
That seat taught him how the world's largest institutions actually decide: with data, discipline, and a respect for risk. It also showed him who that care usually stops with. Institutions had tools and people around the table. Families making decisions just as critical often had a product pitch and a spreadsheet.
He co-founded Qonfido to bring that same long-term thinking about critical decisions to everyday investors — not as a scaled-down bank, but as a companion that helps people decide with the calm and clarity institutions take for granted.
Vasant has spent two decades building financial products and technology inside some of the world's largest institutions. At Accenture, he saw how technology could transform complex industries at global scale. At Citi, he led innovation initiatives across global markets, financial infrastructure, and emerging technologies, working with teams in New York, London, and Singapore on the future of finance — and kept coming back to a simpler question: why was guidance still so hard to find when ordinary households made money decisions?
What he kept seeing was a quiet double standard. Institutions and sophisticated investors had experts, research, and guidance shaped around them. Most families were left to decide from scattered information and advice that started with a product, not with them.
Before Qonfido, Vasant also co-founded a healthcare technology startup. It taught him that people make better decisions when complexity is removed and trust is earned through clarity and transparency.
He founded Qonfido on a simple belief — every household deserves access to the intelligence, context, and guidance that today is available only to institutions and the wealthy.
