About the role
Qonfido is building an AI companion for money—helping people organise, understand, and grow their wealth with clarity and confidence.
We are looking for a curious, proactive Investment Associate who genuinely cares about how people engage with money, mutual funds, and investing—and can turn that curiosity into useful research and clear communication.
This is a hands-on role in the Founder's Office: you will sit close to product, strategy, and content, helping us understand what users need, what the market is doing, and how to explain complex finance simply.
You will not be picking stocks or giving investment advice. You will research, synthesise, and help shape product-facing insights and educational content that makes mutual funds easier to understand and trust.
If you follow the investment space, enjoy asking why things work, and can make finance clearer for others, we would love to hear from you.
What you'll own
User Research
- Identify recurring questions, confusion points, and unmet needs from users across chat, support, social, and feedback channels.
- Run lightweight research: interview notes, question clustering, journey mapping, and insight briefs for founders and product.
- Translate raw user signals into actionable themes—not just a list of complaints.
- Help prioritise which user problems deserve product, content, or education responses.
Financial Market & Mutual Fund Product Research
- Research relevant topics in Indian mutual funds: categories, fund structures, market trends, and common investor misconceptions.
- Build short, accurate research notes on schemes, categories, and product comparisons that product and content teams can use.
- Stay current on AMFI / SEBI developments, category behaviour, and how retail investors actually talk about money.
- Verify facts carefully—accuracy and plain language matter more than volume.
Product-Facing Insights & Educational Content
- Draft product-facing copy: fund explainers, rating narratives, discovery prompts, FAQs, and educational snippets.
- Turn complex financial concepts into simple, engaging content across written formats (and support longer Qontent pieces where needed).
- Partner with product and marketing to ensure insights show up where users actually need them—in-app, on web, and in educational content.
- Use AI tools to accelerate research and drafting; you own clarity, correctness, and judgment on final output.
Cross-Functional Support & Ownership
- Work closely with founders, product, and marketing on new ideas, launches, and user-focused initiatives.
- Take ownership of projects end to end in a fast-moving startup—research → draft → review → ship.
- Contribute wherever needed: insight memos, content outlines, competitive scans, or launch support.
What success looks like
Within the first 6 months, you should be able to:
- Deliver regular user insight briefs that product and founders act on.
- Produce accurate, plain-language research on mutual fund topics without rework on facts.
- Ship product-facing or educational content that reduces confusion for first-time investors.
- Demonstrate strong judgment: ask good questions, verify claims, and communicate crisply.
- Build a repeatable research → insight → content workflow with AI assistance where it helps.
Who you are
- Finance, economics, business, or related educational background strongly preferred.
- 0–3 years of work experience (internships, research roles, content, or analyst-adjacent work count).
- Genuine interest and curiosity in finance, investing, and Indian mutual funds.
- Strong written and verbal communication—you can explain SIPs, categories, and risk without jargon.
- Self-motivated with high personal agency: you take initiative, figure things out, and work independently.
- Willingness to learn, research deeply, ask questions, and take responsibility for accuracy.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, structured notes, and lightweight data gathering.
- Hands-on with AI tools for research and drafting; you still fact-check and own quality.
- Based anywhere in India (IST or a similar timezone); available for internship or part-time contract with clear weekly capacity.
Bonus points
- AMFI / NISM / CFA Level I (or similar) exposure—not required, but signals depth.
- Prior internship in fintech, wealth, research, or content.
- Personal investing or mutual fund tracking habit (for learning—not as a hiring filter for pedigree).
- Experience writing explainers, newsletters, or educational social content on finance.
- Familiarity with Qonfido-style product surfaces: fund discovery, ratings, portfolio clarity.
Why join us
You will help shape how everyday Indian investors understand mutual funds—through real product surfaces, not just slide decks.
Rare early-stage exposure: work directly with founders at an AI-native fintech while the insight and education layer is still being built.
Flexible internship / part-time contract for people who want meaningful work in finance and product—not a generic back-office research seat.
High performers will build a portfolio of shipped insights and content, with a strong path to expanded responsibility if there is mutual fit.
